LA artist Katy Ann Gilmore is blowing up. She earned her BA in Mathematics, Art, and Spanish from Greenville College in Greenville, IL and an MFA in Visual Art from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA. Her work is unique in that she takes a lot of inspiration from her background in mathematics and merges it with both nature and art, resulting in intricate drawings that exist in their own space.

Her recent interest are using white ink on dark paper, and includes a lot of thoughts about paths and dissolving areas of landscape-like forms. You can see how she grows her organic forms using geometry and brings them together with nature like a topographic map, and you can even watch her making them in her short process videos on Instagram.
